Snack Attack! Ah-choo! Thank you!

Could the Shining Stars please have a snack attack? We are out of snack as we have finished our "Star of the Week" rotations. Chris's mom must have read my mind because she sent in extra snack today, thank you!! From here on to the end of school we are just going to be accepting snack donations and just keep them in our closet. While you are out and about shopping for some yummy snack, would you mind sending in a box of tissues? Allergies have been really tough on us!
Thank you for the great turn out for our Spring Fling; the kiddos were very excited to dunk some teachers in the dunk tank, maybe next year Mrs. Cox will take that challenge on!
As always, I am very thankful for your support and involvement, you truly make BWE a great place to be for your students and teachers.
Feel free to stop by our room for the Open House between 6:00 and 6:30  to take a look at our Kinder-garden! That way everyone can find good seats for the program that starts at  7:00 pm.

What have we been up to?

The Shining Stars have been busy bees! We are still practicing addition and subtraction in Math, and their new favorite Math song is the Pirate Subtraction Song (above).

We have been learning about seeds, life cycles of a plant, and finally planted our seeds this week. The Shining Stars are excited to see their seeds sprout!

Our guided reading groups are doing very well, please remember to read every night as we only have a few weeks left before First Grade! I am missing several green guided reading folders so if you did not receive one on Monday shoot me an email so we can figure out where it is!

We are becoming better readers every day and we are getting more stamina to read every day!
In January when we formally started "The Daily Five" reading program, the class as a whole could read for 1minute and 10 seconds at a time. In February we went up to 2 minutes and 17 seconds. In March we were able to read 7 minutes and 25 seconds. Today we read for 10 minutes! Good job Shining Stars!

I can't wait to see you at our Open House and Program next Thursday the  11th , remember to dress your child in red. Our Field Trip is the next day, on Friday the 12th.

Hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week, and I am leaving you  their favorite clean-up song :
