Field Trip

Our Shining Stars are very excited with the upcoming field trip to the Old Mcdonalds Farm! Please send in the three things due by this Friday (the forms went home in Bulldog folders before Spring Break):
  • Conroe ISD Parent Permission form (filled out and signed)
  • Field Trip information and Volunteer form (half page)
  • $3
Please let me know asap if you can volunteer for that day and complete the online volunteer application.

Here is more information that I sent home about the field trip:

FIELD TRIP INFORMATION

Dear Parents,
Our field trip to Old Mcdonalds Farm is Friday, April 12th. We will leave promptly at 8:30 and return at 1:30. We would love as many parent volunteers as possible. The cost for the field trip is $3.00. If you are accompanying us to the Old Macdonalds Farm, please be here by 8:15. Remember, parents are not allowed to ride the CISD school buses with us, but you are welcome to follow us. Volunteers: Please be aware that as a chaperone, you will be responsible for a few children for the day. When we arrive at the farm we will not stay together as a class, but will branch off into small groups so that we can all get the most out of our visit. We will eat lunch at the chaperones and kids convenience. Please bring your cell phones if you are accompanying us. This will help us stay in contact while at the farm.
Students should dress comfortably. Please wear your BWE t-shirt if you have one or a plain blue t-shirt. Tennis shoes are a must.
All students and volunteers need to bring a sack lunch with your name clearly labeled or let us know if your child needs to purchase a lunch from the cafeteria. No lunch boxes please, only disposable items.
We are looking forward to a fun and successful outing. Please join us.

Thank you,
Mrs. Cox

Star of the Week

Here are some previous stars of the week. I apologize for the delay getting them on!

Alyssa brought in her special bunny and shared goldfish with us!

Wynter brought in her special backpack and her favorite American girl Doll. She loves cheese balls!

Patrick was our Star of the Week that most enjoys Super heroes. He showed us how to draw Batman.

Kevin showed us his trophy that he won in basketball!

Shaelin loves horses and brought in her special pony to show us. Her family also shared a Chick-fil-a feast with us!

Star of the Week

Alana was an awesome star of the week! She taught us some Spanish when her special Grandma Doll sang traditional nursery rhymes.

Yee-Haw!!

In Social Studies, we have been studying about Texas, its historical figures and traditions. The culmination of it was our Go Texan Day activities. Although only first graders participated in the parade, we had fun watching them and doing cowboy/cowgirl activities in our rotations. Of course, dressing up was a lot of fun! A big thank you to Mrs. Wendy Nieto and Mrs. Kaori Kato Edwards for heading up the "Giddy-up relay race" in our room and also to Mikey's, Mia's, and Isabelle's family that contributed with the stick horses.

Book Fair

It is Book Fair time again! The students were able to browse/shop today at their designated library time and also will get a chance to shop again on Friday during their technology time. They will not check-out books today, so I asked them to keep books in their backpacks until next week. Thank you for your generous gift certificates for the Book Fair -I will have fun stocking up on more books for our classroom library, yay! We already took the Spring Pictures earlier this morning and everyone looked pretty nice!

Go Texan Day

Howdy Parents,
Go western day is right around the corner, Friday, February 22th, and the kindergarten cowpokes are roundin’ up for a good ol’ time!
Dress your cowboy or cowgirl in their best western wear if you so wish. Kindergarten students will be having a western round up (crafts and activities) from 11:00-12:20 on February 22th .Kindergarten will be rotating through the classrooms, much like the Holiday rotation we had. It is not a party, just a fun day for the kids.
Much Obliged,
Mrs. Cox
